Measurement Issues for Adequacy Comparisons among Pension Systems

In this paper indexes are proposed in order to capture the degree to which a pension scheme (i) prevents from poverty among the elderly, (ii) enables living-standard smoothing after retirement, (iii) induces both intraand inter-generational solidarity.
